Rich textures and interesting shapes of gourds and pumpkins become your muse in this warm autumnal painting workshop! Using a variety of real life gourds as the subjects, you'll explore observational painting mingled with expressive, painterly strokes with an illustrative touch. Let go of “perfect” results — this class embraces experimentation, color layering, and discovering new ways to paint with creamy, bold gouache.

Even for beginner painters, gouache is a water activated paint that gives beautiful results. Similar to watercolor, gouache blends with washes, but it can also be layered overtop as it is opaque with a thick application. Come fall in love with this paint medium, as well as celebrate nature's harvest this season!

This event is geared towards adult learners, but teens 13+ are welcome to join a parent or guardian.

Lauren Beck is the artist behind Bloomery Art Co. and Ren & Ink LLC. Known for her encouraging style and clear, beginner-friendly instruction, she has taught hundreds of students to create with confidence. In this class, Lauren blends her love of nature with her passion for illustrative painting style, guiding you to create artwork you'll be proud of.

Important Details:

Whether you're a complete novice or a seasoned crafter, this class is designed to inspire and excite you! Our beginner-friendly workshop is geared toward adult learners, but this particular instructor has PA clearances to safely work with teens (age 13+). Participants under 18 must have a parent or guardian attend the workshop with them, and a signed liability waiver is required prior to class.
