This workshop is all about learning the foundations, but making time for exploration! The best way to learn how to paint is to play with your materials and see what they can really do, making mistakes along the way. By offering more playful and relaxed classes (no formal project here!), I want to support our creative community with a chance to test, observe, and learn without pressure. You’ll leave with clarity, confidence, and a deeper connection to the medium you’re working with.

In this session, we dive into the beautifully unpredictable world of GOUACHE (pronounced "gwash"). This unique paint behaves differently from watercolor — how it layers, how you can rework areas, how the opacity helps build form. You’ll start to understand the sweet spot of gouache, that balance between creamy pigment and water that gives the medium its signature richness, as you develop a foundation for confident paintings.

This event is geared towards adult learners, but teens 13+ are welcome to join a parent or guardian.

Whether you're a complete novice or a seasoned crafter, this class is designed to inspire and excite you! Our beginner-friendly workshop is geared toward adult learners, but this particular instructor has PA clearances to safely work with teens (age 13+). Participants under 18 must have a parent or guardian attend the workshop with them, and a signed liability waiver is required prior to class.
