Embroidery for Beginners: Floral Pumpkin Ornament

Learn artful stitching with this beginner-friendly workshop! Guests will learn the basics of embroidery from the very beginning, starting with threading your needle, all the way to crafting simple stitches for a finished product. Our expert artist, Kathleen, guides you every step of the way to help even first time stitchers feel confident and inspired.

In this class, you will learn 3-5 basic embroidery stitches while creating one 4" finished hoop art piece that can be hung with a ribbon. The original design features a fall pumpkin with seasonal floral elements, a design perfect for adding some fall color to your decor. Students will leave with the knowledge of how to create their own hoop art and finish the backs for a professional look.

This hands-on workshop is relaxed and fun, with the process as joyful as the finished piece. Set yourself up for cozy relaxation with a new set of skills in stitching!

This event is geared towards adult learners, but teens 13+ are welcome to join a parent or guardian.

What You’ll Learn:

Meet Your Instructor:

Kathleen Walck is a fiber artist, educator, and small business owner of Local Folk Creative Studio in Kutztown. As a certified K-12 art teacher, Kathleen enjoys teaching students of all ages, from pre-K to adults.  She has over 25 years of experience knitting, embroidering, felting and sewing and enjoys sharing her skills and interests with others.

Important Details:

Whether you're a complete novice or a seasoned crafter, this class is designed to inspire and excite you! Our beginner-friendly workshop is geared toward adult learners, but this particular instructor has PA clearances to safely work with teens (age 13+). Participants under 18 must have a parent or guardian attend the workshop with them, and a signed liability waiver is required prior to class.
