✨Digital Pet Portraits in Procreate

Turn your beloved furry (or feathered!) friend into a digital masterpiece! In this fun and approachable workshop, you’ll learn how to create custom pet portraits using the Procreate app on the iPad.

This class is perfect for total beginners or budding digital artists who want to learn how to draw stylized animals with tons of personality. You’ll follow a step-by-step process to sketch, outline, and color your pet in a charming illustrated style, with an emphasis on animal features, fur, feathers, or scales — our instructor is versatile and loves all animals! You'll walk away with a hand-drawn portrait of your snuggly pal, perfect for framing at home, as well as new confidence with digital skills learned in class!

📌 Note:

This event is geared towards adult learners, but teens 13+ are welcome to join a parent or guardian.

What You’ll Learn:

✔️ How to use basic tools in the Procreate app, including special brushes for fur or other animal features
✔️ Simple drawing techniques for pet features, paying close attention to proportions, yet having fun with stylistic illustration for added charm
✔️ How to use a reference photo as a base (please bring at least one to class, digital on your phone or a physical photograph!)
✔️ Tips for coloring, shading, and adding expressive detail to add personality

We’re proud to offer students access to top-of-the-line tools to support their creativity! Our studio is equipped with the latest-generation iPads and Apple Pencils, giving every participant the opportunity to learn using professional-level digital equipment — no need to bring your own device.

If a student prefers to bring their own iPad and Apple Pencil, that’s completely welcome too! Just be sure that the device has the Procreate app installed and is fully charged.

This workshop will provide:

📱 Classroom iPads with Apple Pencils, loaded with the Procreate app
✍️ Accessories for iPad, including drawing gloves
📘 A printed quick-start guide workbook to assist with learning (and to take with you)
