In this engaging digital class, you’ll learn how to bring your hand drawn lettering ideas to life on an iPad using the app Procreate and all its amazing features. We’ll explore the three foundational lettering styles — serif, sans serif, and script — and discover how each one carries its own unique personality and purpose. This class is packed with tons of pro-tips from a seasoned lettering artist on ways to perfect those sleek letter forms!

Perfect for total beginners or budding digital artists, this workshop has been designed with a step-by-step process to sketch, outline, and color your hand lettered quote in an illustrated style. You'll walk away with files to print your charming keepsake at home, perfect for framing, as well as new confidence with digital skills learned in class!

This event is geared towards adult learners, but teens 13+ are welcome to join a parent or guardian.

What You’ll Learn:

✔️ Letterform foundations, understanding what makes lettering styles distinct, and basic structure for consistent drawn letters across styles
✔️ An introduction to Procreate's digital tools at any level (even beginners) to navigate brushes, layers, and guides to sketch and refine letters for polished results
✔️ How to design compositions and layouts of phrases, combining multiple styles in one quote for big impact and stylistic results
✔️ Tips for coloring, shading, and adding expressive detail to add personality

We’re proud to offer students access to top-of-the-line tools to support their creativity! Our studio is equipped with the latest-generation iPads and Apple Pencils, giving every participant the opportunity to learn using professional-level digital equipment — no need to bring your own device.

If a student prefers to bring their own iPad and Apple Pencil, that’s completely welcome too! Just be sure that the device has the Procreate app installed and is fully charged.

This workshop will provide:

📱 Classroom iPads with Apple Pencils, loaded with the Procreate app
✍️ Accessories for iPad, including drawing gloves
📘 A printed quick-start guide workbook to assist with learning (and to take with you)
