Cyanotype Collage Art Prints

Create beautiful UV prints using collaged objects as the subject!

Cyanotype is an interactive process that involves using UV light to print images or items to create a cyan blue artwork (or golden colored using turmeric). In this beginner friendly class, we will be using this technique to produce found object collages, with a special experimental twist! You'll learn how to use transparency paper and a variety of interesting objects (such as lace and other collage items) to create multiple art pieces on paper, perfect for home decor or for gifting.

Want to personalize the cyanotypes with your own items from home? Bring any small special items that can be laid overtop to experiment with. They can be clear, translucent, or just have an interesting shape and meaning.

This event is geared towards adult learners, but teens 13+ are welcome to join a parent or guardian.

You’ll Learn:

✔️ How the cyanotype process works, including preparing and handling light-sensitive materials
✔️ Tips and tricks on arranging botanicals in a beautiful balanced composition
✔️ Techniques for successfully prepping, exposing, rinsing, and finishing prints

Meet Your Instructor:

Alania Mariano is a multimedia artist specializing in photography and film from Easton, PA. With a BFA in Fine Arts and minor in Fashion History and Culture from the University of Delaware, she has expanded her practice abroad studying in Italy and Tanzania. Alania specializes in capturing life's sweetest moments through her small business, Alma Collective LLC.

Important Details:

Whether you're a complete novice or a seasoned crafter, this class is designed to inspire and excite you! Our beginner-friendly workshop is geared toward adult learners, but this particular instructor has PA clearances to safely work with teens (age 13+). Participants under 18 must have a parent or guardian attend the workshop with them, and a signed liability waiver is required prior to class.
