Cyanotype Botanicals: Blue & White Sun Prints

Graphic printed artwork printed in the sunshine!
Rain date: Sunday, April 26, 2026

Join this unique exploratory class for an introduction to cyanotype, a sun-powered printing process that creates rich white and blue images. Guests will enjoy using real leaves and other botanicals to create artwork from organic natural beauty through this uplifting process.

We’ll first cover how to properly prep the paper surfaces for processing, as this sets the stage for the magic to happen. With expert tips on how to arrange the botanicals in a pleasing composition, you'll take time to appreciate Mother Nature as you tap into your inner artist. The paper will then be exposed and developed in the sunshine outdoors, creating a striking blue color with the blocked botanical areas remaining white. This complex process is totally beginner-friendly with a guide and the proper setup, and you'll be amazed at the beautiful results!

Each participant will leave with several finished cyanotype prints on paper, which can then be framed, added to a card or sketchbook, or used in collaging projects. You'll love the entire process, gaining an appreciation for working with natural elements as you create a one-of-a-kind work of art!

📌 Note:

This event is geared towards adult learners 18+ only.
Please save the rain date on Sunday, April 26, 2026, in case of an extremely overcast day or rain, as this will impact our use of the sunshine outdoors.
