Do you have a jean jacket that would look amazing with artistic decoration to make it your own? Maybe your pair of loved jeans could use some beautiful stitching embellishments? Or do you want to customize an article of clothing that's just feeling blah? The possibilities are endless when you add embroidery stitching, decorative painting, or sparkly embellishments to your clothing in this joyful upcycling workshop!

Just bring a clean wearable (jeans, shirt, jacket, hat, hoodie, tote bag, etc) and learn how to get creative with it — you'll discover simple techniques in embroidery and decoration with fabric paints. All levels welcome! Bring a beloved item to transform, and we’ll provide the supplies and inspiration so you'll leave with a revived art piece that's expressive and sustainable.

This event is geared towards adult learners, but teens 13+ are welcome to join a parent or guardian.

What You’ll Learn:

✔️ How to look at old denim with fresh eyes by identifying areas for patching, painting, or embellishing
✔️ Experiment with fabric-safe paints to add pattern, imagery, or abstract expression directly to denim
✔️ Practice simple decorative stitches that add charm and texture. (Perfect for beginners — no sewing experience needed!)

📱 Technology to view inspiration photos, mood boards, and overhead views of the instructor's painting hands
✍️ All high-quality decorating supplies (but you're responsible for bringing clothing items!)

Important Details:

Whether you're a complete novice or a seasoned crafter, this class is designed to inspire and excite you! Our beginner-friendly workshop is geared toward adult learners, but this particular instructor has PA clearances to safely work with teens (age 13+). Participants under 18 must have a parent or guardian attend the workshop with them, and a signed liability waiver is required prior to class.
